Prior to founding Bizresearch & Bizwatch Search Analytics, Ms. Thieme worked for American Electric Power (AEP) in Columbus, Ohio, and USAID/Deloitte & Touche in St. Petersburg, Russia. She has a degree in Russian Studies from The Ohio State University, where she graduated in 1993.

Ms. Thieme has written articles for her industry peers on "Search Analytics", "Keyword Research", "Link Farms", and "Managing Paid Search Marketing Campaigns", which were published by SearchDay, an online industry publication for search engine marketers. Ms. Thieme was chosen to develop a new search marketing analytics curriculum and teach a newly developed search engine marketing syllabus at The Ohio State University's Fisher College of Business. Thieme taught Principles of Electronic Marketing 754 in 2007-2008. In addition, Ms. Thieme developed two online courses for SEMPO's Advanced Paid Search Online Courses. Those courses launched in mid to late April, 2007.
